Watching the clip, there is no charitable interpretation to give to Noem. There is no context to soften the stupidity of the answer.
She literally answered the question „What is habeas corpus?“ by saying „Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the President has to be able to remove people from this country….“
Habeas, which is older than the Magna Carta. Is the corner stone which seperates us from a fascist state. It is in the Constitution which this moron apparently never read.
This is totally irrelevant, but her facial expression immediately reminded me of a scene in the David Cronenberg film ‚Shivers‘, where a woman is infected by a parasite while lying in the bathtub.
