In the late 70s, I was on free breakfast and lunch from the age of 7 to 9 at school. Those were often my only meals. In summer, we barely ate on some days, but sometimes the food stamps were enough. We bought mostly generic saltines, bologna, and government cheese with the food stamps.
My mother worked full time. It was my two sisters and I. We were poor because of my abusive, drug-addicted father. My mother had no choice but to leave him because we would all have ended up dead.
These are the programs they are going to cut.

At a certain point, you can only piss off people so much before they snap, and starving children make for a very powerful motivator.
Could be some rather nasty months, let alone years, ahead.

I would have thought 100% of kids (and adults for that matter) rely on food.

Well maybe they should have pooled their allowances and gotten a seat at Mar a Lago huh? Dumb kids don even understand their own country. Do they think he’s also “their president”? No, he’s there to make him, his family and some friends richer. That’s all that matters.
I don’t see why they’re not just like Don Jr, Ivanka and the other nitwit being a self-made successful person who never had any help or support from their horrible daddy (I’m sure that’s what they call him, to get him hard).
The cruelty is the point. If they aren’t babies in wombs, which Republicans think gives them the delusional excuse of divine right in controlling women, they’re on their own. You just know one of these jerks will say something along the lines of „once I learned how to walk and talk, I didn’t leech off the government!“

Don’t worry, food prices are already inflated beyond affordability and Trumps tariffs are about to make it even worse. Who needs to feed kids when half starve to death.
Yea, the republican party is trash. And republican voters should be seriously considered for self-harm interventions.

How do we reach these children and turn them into voters?
The Republicans have been on that for years. We really should get started.
Because they have never been pro-life and they have never cared about children. Hell, the majority of them have probably never read the holy book that their religion springs from.
This is about purposeful cruelty and control. With Republicans, the cruelty is always the point. Starving children is the point.
