Genuinely curious, how is that egg situation going America? Europen media never covers it for obvious reasons, and it’s pretty silent on the American media too, I think.

Well the American government collect the tariffs and the consumer pay a higher price to purchase the goods

I wonder what the tariffs will be on the clown shoes Trump likes to wear.

What the MAGA expected? China sell you a t-shirt 10$, you want them to pay a (150% tariff), they will pay you 15$ and give you a free t-shirt? or sell you the shirt 25?

„America“ pays for it… yep, but the poorest people feel it more. The richest won’t hardly bat an eye when they go shopping. Those on fixed incomes, working two jobs or are marginalized barely making ends meet already get saddled with more burden.

This is all happening at a time when everything is stretched to the limit with social safety nets being removed. But hey… the wealthy will get some sweet tax breaks.

    7. During WWII, Americans were ready and willing to make sacrifices for the greater good. Yes, we’ll pay for tariffs proudly too but just tell us who benefits though. Why should we step up to make this sacrifice?

What’s not being said: Trump supporters call any tariffs or taxes a „Patriot Tax“. I’m starting to hear this more and more. Seems they believe his „short term pain for long term gain“ bullshit. The Germans were convinced the same way in the early 1930’s Germany. To the point when Hitler started the invasion of Poland… They were 100% behind him (publicly).

Trump team truly incapable of speaking the truth, another fresh example from article: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt “The reality is that the president has always maintained Chinese producers will be absorbing the cost of these tariffs.”

    10. I go to Costco and it’s $21 for 5 dozen. They’re good eggs. It’s fine. Less selection for a while now though. Only two choices instead of five to eight

    11. Maga knows it for sure!! I spoke with a Maga business owner he readily admits that he doesn’t care about the tariffs, he is proudly raising prices to account for it all.

    14. Walmart is known for its generosity and willingness to sacrifice profits for the people. /s

~65% of Walmart employees are on government assistance, with most spending their assistance at Walmart.

They will find that soft spot in their heart and “eat the tariffs”. /s

Too little, too late. His supporters don’t think so. A quick stroll on Facebook and I see many mad at Walmart for raising prices and that if they blame the tariff’s “it’s bullshit.” Logic is dead in this country

    16. A great many MAGAs still believe that tariffs are all the bad foreign countries just throwing money at ‚Murica cuz ‚Murica told them to do it.

    17. But Leavitt was out there again today, wearing a symbol of a religion that teaches love, spouting propaganda and lies for the ready masses.

Trump is fine with ordinary Americans paying higher prices. He does not care. He does not care if the red states suffer.

This is the grievance Presidency. He just wants to hurt anybody he sees as a threat.

    20. Just think how easy it was to convince tens of millions of Americans of the opposite.

We are cooked, as the kids say.

Trump-world must include some dedicated idiots if they are not willing to google “how tariffs work” for this to be a headline

    22. MindPitt314 on

If we don’t consume on unnecessary items and junk we don’t need, we don’t pay any tariffs.

If corporations like Walmart agree not to pass on the cost of tariffs to consumers, they are effectively absorbing the tariff as a cost, which acts like a tax on their profits. This means the government collects revenue from the tariff, and Walmart’s after-tax profits are reduced unless they can offset the cost elsewhere. In this scenario, the intended benefits of corporate tax cuts—such as those extended by the „big beautiful bill“—are partly negated for companies forced to absorb tariffs, since their net tax burden (taxes plus tariffs) increases.

Keep picturing his supporters cheering for tariffs at his rally’s, utterly clueless.
