I think the first one seems more intuitive and visually appealing; space rockets launch vertically.
The second chart would be great for space missiles—I hope we don’t make those any time soon.
PS—crazy that SpaceX alone has launched 50% of the successful launches in this chart.
Crazy that PSLV failed. It had a stellar track record of successful launches.
I would prefer the first one more.

The first one is more intuitive. The flags are pretty small and the casual observer may not know who owns what rocket. I suggest enlarge the flags and place them below the ground line, but above the success/fail check marks.
We’re putting so much junk into space. Future us is gonna be disappointed in us.
