The free market has had a decade to prove it could get the job done.

A decade of ever increasing demand, less and less supply.

And they have failed. Sorry, I’ll clarify. They have failed Canadians. I’m sure their pockets are full of cash, which means they succeeded, for them.

But we keep getting reports like housing starts have fallen compared to last year, last month. With the pent up demand they should be building houses in record numbers, and they are not. A pox on all their houses.

Get the government back in the business of building homes,  because the free market either cannot or will not step up to the plate.

    2. A public housing building company that can build homes at cost and sell them just above cost… vs a private company that builds homes at a profit and sells them even moreso

They just mad that a public homebuilder would consider building homes people actually want to buy vs. either huge profitable McMansions nobody can afford or 1-bedroom airBNB Condos nobody wants anymore.

They’re mad at a problem their own reckless greed over decades created. Screw them!
