    1. Let us not forget that this is the individual who stated his belief that humans and dinosaurs, of the non-avian variety, [once existed alongside each other](https://thetyee.ca/Views/2004/12/01/TheManwhoWalkswithDinosaurs/).

      >He said Prime Minister Mark Carney could have done himself a favour by appointing more Albertans to his cabinet.

      >“That could have been such a simple gesture, to say from the prime minister, ‘I hear you,”’ he said.

Albertans should have elected more Liberals, if they expect representation in a Liberal cabinet. As it is, a full half of Liberal MPs from Alberta are in the cabinet. Of course, Albertans only elected two Liberals.

      >“I say to the federal government — you don’t want to take that risk,” he said. “So listen now, while separatism is having an ascendancy. Listen, because it’s serious. And work toward this more autonomous association within Canada.”

They should go straight to indigenous and first nations leaders in Alberta and discuss their strategy for their response to the referendum, if it should occur.

      Dangerous … for the Tories.

Nice to know they have their priorities straight. Wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to … *the Tories*. Heaven forbid!

I mean, if the party split then they might have to actually … change their approach to governing! Can’t have that.

Will these dinosaurs just be quiet? Preston Manning, Stockwell Day, Harper…. They sure love the sound of their voices and their delusion that they still matter

Another Conservative who is more interested in getting power than in Canada.

David Cameron, the Conservative PM of Britain, thought the same thing – hold a referendum, let people blow off steam and to hold off the far right parties. Joke on him, they actually voted to leave and now Britain is poorer than it would have been if it had stayed, none/few of the promised changes happened and the majority of Britons now regret leaving.

Allowing a referendum in Alberta now with Trump wanting to annex us (whether or not he says it out loud), is just dangerous. Alberta / Canada will be bombarded with bots, misinformation and foreign interference. there is no guarantee the referendum will fail. Canada in 2025 is much more cynical than Canada in 1995 and the US is far more aggressive.

Who cares what Stockwell Day has to say? Just because he opens his mouth doesn’t mean we have to pay any attention whatsoever.
