    1. Being mega wealthy and or a nepobaby is a brain disease in its own right. Makes you completely detached from reality, unable to be sympathetic toward others, inflates your self worth to delusional levels, and makes you think you are the hero of the story while filling you with crippling loneliness and feelings of inadequacy to the point where you need constant validatation.

When $40K a month is a tiny fraction, you’re not budgeting, you’re broadcasting how far removed you are from real life

It’s almost like he’s the spoiled scion of an insanely wealthy family with a name he was able to coast through life on, despite making the kind of decisions that would lead to someone from a middle or working class background to wind up in jail or even dead, and that lifestyle has led to him having a warped, grossly unrealistic view of what life is like for the average American.

In fact, I’d go as far as to say he’s not the down-to-earth, common sense everyman he sold his and, later Trump’s supporters, on.

ETA: Also, because I can’t help myself, „It’s one month’s rehab, Michael. What could it cost? $40,000?“

Don’t ever believe that if you tax the rich that they’ll go somewhere else. You know which two states have the most billionaires? CA and NY, two states seen as high tax burdened states. They don’t mind. They want the society that comes with it. They can’t get that in Arkansas or North Dakota. So make them pay for it through taxes that can be used to make those same places livable for the vast majority of the rest of us.

Man who lists „falconing“ as a hobby says that $40k is an affordable cost for rehab…

It’s like hearing the gold investment pundits talk about writing off mortgage interest on their taxes… no MF, we use the standard deduction cuz we’re poor

    7. Question for any MAGA lurking here:

Why did y’all elect a billionaire and have him stick millionaires into important jobs? Did you assume that rich people give a shit about working people like you? They’ll help out or something?

    8. Remember Trump has 13 billionaires in his cabinet and the rest are millionaires. His whole cabinet is that far removed from the rest of America

    9. By „rehab“ does he mean „have all your blood changed in a private Swiss clinic“?

JFK snd RFK were ok guys. But they were there because they were the product of a rich and influential family. People love jfk’s “ask not what your country can do for you” speech but to me it’s bullshit. I’m paying taxes. I for goddamn sure want to know what my country is doing for me with those taxes. And by me I mean all of us. For a long time people have been doing things for the country and a lot of those things have been pretty shitty, don’t benefit most of us and just serve people who aren’t us. So, yeah. I’m done asking what I can do for my country. I’m kind and honest with my neighbors but the us as a whole can kind of suck a dick. Paying a ton of taxes for almost no benefit at all. That’s the US.

    11. An extra $40K a year would be a mountain of money for the average American. These assholes are so removed from reality, it’s disgusting.

A government of the Rich People, by the Rich People, for the Rich People.

    13. Politicians should have to live on minimum wage for at LEAST a year with no cheats or help from their rich friends so they can see what it’s actually like!!!

This is why oligarchs can’t represent us. They don’t exist in the same reality as their constituents.

    15. deadsoulinside on

And this is why we need to stop putting wealthy people in charge of our government. Very few of them know that the struggles are that everyone else is dealing with while they tell us the federal min wage is fine where it’s at.

I wonder how many of our own elected Congress would be able to properly cite the yearly income for their states‘ wage laws.

    16. He’s not “Out of touch.”

      He is a liar.

He doesn’t want to help anyone and wants it to be unaffordable.

They want people to suffer and to be broke.

    17. He comes across like he doesn’t even really want this job. Would be doing us a favor if he resigned but then Trump will just throw in some other unqualified person to replace him

we have an entire Presidential Administration staffed by billionaire inheritor nepobabies. And somehow they represent „real America.“

    19. „Harder told RFK Jr. that the rehab program Kennedy participated in to overcome his heroin addiction would cost Americans $286,000 out of pocket today.

„There are, Congressman, there are many really gold star rehabs that do it for a tiny fraction, like $20,000 to $40,000 a month,“ RFK Jr. interrupted to say in an X clip shared by journalist Aaron Rupar Wednesday.“

„There you go,“ Harder replied. „I bring this up because in my community the average [annual] salary is $40,000. So most folks in my community can’t even afford $20- or $40,000 per month.“

I’d like to propose an amendment that no one may be elected who does not do their own grocery shopping. And you can certainly not be president if you only recently learned the word.

„What do you mean that’s a lot? Why don’t these people stop being poor and start making money?“

    22. Skinny-on-the-Inside on

I think all politicians should get paid the comp of their median constituent.

This would very quickly align of our interests together.

That’s a salary? That’s my yearly salary or not really it’s my friend’s yearly salary. I make much less than that.
