>The Donald Trump effect struck in Nebraska Tuesday night as Democrats snatched another public office away from Republicans by tying them to the president’s disastrous agenda.
>The people of Omaha elected John Ewing Jr. to be the city’s first Black mayor, in a surprising defeat for Jean Stothert, the city’s three-term Republican mayor who outraised Ewing by nearly double, according to *The Washington Post*.
>Although the seat itself is nonpartisan, Ewing’s campaign was able to channel the voters’ negative feelings about Trump’s wild first few months in office into a victory over his opponent, who had supported the president’s run in 2024.

So refreshing to see us in the national news for a good reason.

How much effect can a democratic mayor have on Trump’s project 2025 agenda? Genuinely curious how much of an effect these small victories can actually have.

I think a lot of people saw the consequences of not voting. We get 4 years of authoritarian dumpster fires because of it.

I’ve heard this before in the leadup to 2024. I’ll wait to be impressed until midterms.

Kudos for the campaign ad mocking the GOP’s fixation on the trans sports fauxrage:

Glad the people of Omaha are calling bullshit on Republican culture wars against trans people. Regardless of someone’s personal feelings about trans people, demonizing them is just silly and wrong, and a dangerous way to try and score political points.

Don’t worry, GOP/MAGA, you have nothing to fear: American Democracy will be dead by the mid-term Elections.

I’m not sure how positive I feel about this. „We’re not trump“ and „we hate trump“ are the tactics that won Biden only 1 election.

There might be something to a unified message, where every single Democrat pledges to put their constituents ahead of the party, and ahead of the President.
Challenge every republican to publicly vow they will support their own constituents ahead of supporting Trump.
GOP would spin their heads off trying to explain how it’s all the same thing.

In 1.5 years and again in 3.5 years, people will forget everything happening now after being flooded by bullshit and propaganda from Fox News and other dipshit fascist enabling media and news sources. It happened last November, it’ll happen again. My faith in the voting population of this country is gone. People are short sighted, forgetful, and most of all, stupid.
