On paper Carney and Starmer are practically the same politician, and when you take a global step back and look at who is still holding power in the world and they’re practically lost twins from a bygone era. It’s to Carney’s credit that he can recognize what a scumbag Starmer is, but he should be familiar enough with him as a personality from his time in England.
The UK will prioritize their special (and not all pathetically one-sided) relationship with the Americans above every other concern. At least you can say about Canadians we don’t labour under any delusion that the Americans respect us in the slightest.
