    1. MAGA taking over our entire government in real time… Punishing a judge for being kind to immigrants and living up to the words on the statue of liberty.

What a shameful country the US is turning out to be.

I wonder how many of the ~20 grand jurors voted true bill … and whether this will be dismissed as fast as the case against the Massachusetts judge indicted in 2019.

How the fuck does a grand jury indict on this?

Holy shit she’s gonna be convicted. This country is done for.

She didn’t even do anything to stop them from arresting the suspect. She acted to keep her courtroom from becoming the zone of a melee during an arrest that was going to happen. She acted to protect the sanctity of her courtroom so suspects and others attending hearings would not be scared to enter and attend hearings. She directed the man to a side door that leads directly into the exact same hallway the officers were waiting in so they couldn’t make a show in the main entrance of her courtroom. She was protecting the court’s independence.

I read the original complaint. I’m not at all surprised she was indicated. Judges need to follow the law too and, if the complaint is true, she didn’t.

      This isn’t big news.

As the saying goes a grand jury can indict a ham sandwich.

Woah, this is what happens when the prosecutors abandon their oath to justice.

We going to do anything? Nope? Just march on the sidewalks and leave when our permit is up? Cool. See you all in the work camps. We’re cattle, and they know it

It would’ve been surprising if she wasn’t indicted. The real ruling is when this goes to trial, and I don’t think that’s going to go how the GOP hopes.

I’m curious what her defense to the charge will be. I suspect she’ll argue that she didn’t actually assist him, or she didn’t have intent to assist him. I’m not sure what other defense she could have. She absolutely was outside of her authority in doing what she did. No other issues matter. No political issues matter.

    11. I’m seeing folks panic over this: DON’T.

This is one of those cases that needs to play out in a trial. Patience.

    12. how did this go to trial and get an indictment already?? TF. How long did it take for Trump to go to trial and get indicted?

      Oh wait…

Obligatory “a grand jury will indict a ham sandwich” statement. Recall that grand juries do not hear from the defense. They only hear the prosecution’s case.

    14. Took them two years to indict Trump for BLATANTLY ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES so they could delay it to post-election but this case must be IMMEDIATELY taken care of. Crazy double standards.

    15. Have any of you even actually read the indictment for this judge? She (allegedly) tried to distract 6 federal agents from 3 different agencies so she could sneak out someone from the courthouse who was at court for domestic violence. Flores-Ruiz was originally here legally, his visa expired, he was served with paperwork to leave the country or apply for a renewal, and he didn’t. The agents were all within the normal duties of their jobs, the court bailiffs were all okay with the arrest, the chief judge was okay with the arrest, and Judge Drugan took it upon herself to allegedly break the law to hide this guy and rob the victims, who were there to testify against him, of their justice. There are plenty of hills to die on against Trump (and I stand proudly on all of those), but this isn’t one of them. Even Flores-Ruiz’s defense attorney wasn’t made aware that Judge Drugan skipped several cases to get Flores-Ruiz out of the court room.

    16. Federal Grand Jury indictment just means that a group of people feel there is enough evidence to have a trial. That’s it. This doesn’t mean that anyone thinks Dugan is guilty.

    17. Is that fascist enough yet for you America? No? Ok. The beating will continue until further notice.
