If they count her vote, would it even go into validation and then another recount? Wouldn’t it just cause a by-election?
Huh, is glueing an address sticker on one of those envelopes normal? I’ve used a special ballot a few times and have never seen that. I wouldn’t be surprised if there must be other envelopes returned because of that bad stamp.
I hate to say it, but this is the risk of voting via post. They could’ve just gone to a polling station or the RO anytime for almost 30+ days if they wanted a guarantee it was there.
Seems like this was a minor error that may be more common than one would think. However, given how contested this election was, this one was obviously going to be given more attention. I feel for the voter and hopefully Elections Canada can make the proper improvements to limit these errors. Despite its faults, Canadian elections are among the strongest and transparent in the world.
