      I wish people would wrap their minds around the fact you can’t say tariffs are a negotiation tactic AND a way to bring back manufacturing to the US. He’s playing with the stock market at the expense of the everyday American. I’m so sick of this nonsense.

      I think he needs to reinstate the de minimis exemption or consumers are probably going to continue to be hit with surprise customs bills when importing.

      I guess we will find out how consumers feel about a 30% price increase. It’s way to early to call this a win. This may cripple small businesses.

      The damage is done. Even if they manage to reach an agreement in the next 90 days and Trump doesn’t flip-flop it’ll still be months before ships from China start arriving with goods again. That leaves him plenty of time to get angry at China over something he saw on Fox News, or because Navarro whispered in his ear. And even if all of that is set aside, a baseline tariff of 30% on China and 10% on the rest of the world remains deal or no deal. It’s still inflationary, it’s still souring global relations, and it has resulted in manufacturing job losses rather than the triumphant return of factory jobs he promised.

      I doubt he cares about the state of the country 4 years from now. He only cares about grifting schemes. He gets off on watching the market swing when he speaks.

      And consumers just get a 10-25% instant increase in prices with a huge increase in government overreach! Anyone who bought enough volume to get a shipment from China last week bought at 145% rate and did so with credit at 8%. Now before those items get to store shelves, they are already underwater and have to eat that additional cost! In the mean time, some of Trump’s buddies cleaned up!

      Trump will not acknowledge this failure and his people are not going to look further. There is no downside for him at all, while this still fucks everyone else.

      I dont know why this is the narrative. We still have tariffs, prices are still going higher, thousands of people are still going to lose their jobs. All that happened is that we went from great depression to regular depression. Trump still made it worse

      I just bought a generator because FEMA is being dismantled, nobody can tell me how much a generator will cost in 60 days, hurricane season is coming fast, and I’m pretty sure it will be every man for himself.

      When is Everyone going to learn that he’s a fraud? He destroys the market by breaking alliances and implementing half baked tariffs around the world. Then he caves, one country at a time, and the market rises slightly and he declares victory.

      „We will do nothing differently and your people will still pay the price“

      „Hah! we got you, we will keep the tariffs in place but at a lower rate. How you like them apples!?“

      Why isn’t China gifting Trump a better plane than Qatar? He deserves one for his hard work on the tariff pauses. Also, when will the gift him TikTok already as he has paused that sale date two times for them?
