I am shocked I tell you shocked, its not like this has happened before or anything who could have seen this coming.

Allegations like these are unlikely to harm Reform given that it is basically expected behaviour…

    3. Kitchen-Jackfruit680 on

What did you expect video footage of them on karaoke singing Ebony and Ivory.

    4. And people keep telling me that Reform aren’t racists.  I mean maybe stop doing racist stuff if you don’t want people to think that..? Just an idea.

I wonder how the chairman of Reform, Muhammad Ziauddin Yusuf, feels about this.

    6. That does seems a bit of a non story if the worst example is someone replying ‚yes‘ to the question: ‚Do you support mass deportations?‘

Hardly going to lose them any voters.

I’ve gone from being a normal middle-of-the road dad to a fascist far-right thug without even changing my beliefs.

    8. That’s what happens when you put in charge of vetting candidates someone who thinks Hitler was ‚brilliant‘.

No! Really?! I can’t believe it! Staggering revelation.

This has really shocked me. It never occured to me that the grassroots of Reform were a bunch of racist cunts!

      Wow!

Going to have to have a little lie down now I’ve read this. Shook to the core.

      What’s the context?

Is being for equality, women’s and LGBT rights „islamophobic?“ Seriously, What are your thoughts?

      FFS, what’s the answer here?

Also, polite reminder, while descriminatory being anti Islam is not racist as Islam is not a race.

In other news: bears have been reported to be defecating in forested areas.

    12. Just another left-wing paper taking a dig at a right-wing party.

In the UK, people are entitled to criticise or even laugh at Islam, just as they are entitled to hold right-wing views. If anyone crosses the line into hate or incitement, we have laws to deal with that.

At the same time, others are entitled to be offended, disagree, and criticise or mock those views in return. That’s what freedom of speech means.

    13. I could wager that most Reform voters wouldn’t see anything wrong here, if laws haven’t been broken and neither would a large proportion of Tories.

Apart from associating with distasteful people and groups what have they done that is illegal? I wouldn’t vote for them but someone who thinks like they do would probably see nothing wrong in doing so.

‘Islamophobic’ is such a hilarious word, you mean they were mocking a religion? How terrible…

Well given how anti-Semitic half the labour government are I can’t say I’m shocked.

The requirements for something to be deemed as „far right“ and „islamophobic“ are so generous these days the content could’ve been almost anything

    17. FelisCantabrigiensis on

I’m shocked, shocked to see that racism is going on in the racist party.

    18. Saw this post, didn’t even have to double check that it was the guardian.

      Literally Hitler.

„an AI-generated picture of Muslim men with Pakistani flags.“.

I wish reform were as based as people made them out to be. Unfortunately just another conformist party for the regime, just less than the other ones.

    21. strongfavourite on

councillors from far right islamophobic party share far right islamophobic content..

      how unexpected!

    22. LemonRecognition on

Russell Cherry is a real rotten one. He makes Kanye West look like an anti-racism activist.

    23. Fart-Pleaser on

Reform would cause race riots across the UK if they ever formed a government

    24. thescouselander on

Looks like another Hope Not Hate hit piece – it will probably turn out that they made the whole thing up.

    25. I’m always wary of accusations of islamphobia.

I think Islam is essentially a fascist death cult. I am entitled to that view. I don’t hate people that are Muslim, but i think they are horribly misled and find most of their beliefs barbaric.

I don’t hold Christianity in much higher regard, though it does at least seem able to flex a little in light of modern societal advancements.

      Maybe I’m just religionphobic.

    26. Nazis and racists, in Obergruppenführer Farage’s party? This news is as shocking as it is unexpected!

    27. Minute_Hernia on

Wanting mass deportations of illegal immigrants isn’t islamphobic, also it’s not an irrational phobia to be worried about a religion that can’t coexist with our way of life.

    28. haribo_2016 on

Smear campaigns happen on all sides of the political spectrum, they even do it to themselves to win public confidence. It’s not new information or worrisome that someone doesn’t like a particular ethnicity, religion or group. Give us an actual scandal such as one of the more recent ones to sink our teeth’s into, such as the expenses. It would be so more fitting in today’s age considering the cost of living.

    29. BusyBeeBridgette on

Reform have always had the same problem as UKIP did. Vetting candidates… Or there lack of. So they always end up with the more extreme idiots in society.
