Stealing tools is the lowest of the low. Tradesmen are literally one of the most important trades in the country. Utter scum people stealing the way they make a living

I feel like the Met Police could do so much to improve their image with a relentless focus on this and other car/home thefts. All the evidence suggests that the bulk of this crime is committed by a small number of people (as shown here) and they could make a proper dent if they just did this relentlessly for a year.

I love how the police only suddenly decide to do ‘something’ once once it has completely spiralled out of control… pathetic waste of tax payer money

As a tradie I love this. Tool theft is soul destroying.

Remember site getting done in 2021 and every electrician plumber and chippy lost their tools. What was weird too was that site had loads of locked doors, but only the only with tool stores in got opened. Inside job. The guys get some labourer on site to tell them where everything is.

Couldn’t the tool manufacturers build in some kind remote locking device? Without the fob and electronic code, the tool is dead to all but the owner.

Good to see plod making an effort and trying to win hearts and minds. They take their time don’t they.

    6. My van was broken into last week, all my tools gone (gardening equipment) police didn’t want to know. Gave me a crime reference number, didn’t come out. Yesterday I received a letter stating that due to lack of evidence and leads they’d be closing the case.
