      Both he and Pope Francis took aim at Trump on his immigration rhetoric most of all. Makes sense as the church is built around compassion for the poor and displaced and Trump/Vance have been spewing rhetoric that is the opposite on those issues

      Judging by comments here, and reading online, it sure feels hopeful that this pope was chosen to sort of peel away the religious from Trump

      Having the pope, hopefully, give comments that contradict trump or point out how bad he might shake up some of the less fervent cultists into maybe thinking

      „Gee, if the pope is saying this dude is bad, maybe I should investigate this“

      The New Pope also defended a pedophile, refused to investigate accusations of other pedophiles, is anti-women in the church and is anti-gay. So forgive me if him telling off JD Vance once isn’t going to sway my opinion.
