TL;DR: man buys drugs on the internet, takes them, dies. Honestly I’m not sure why this even warranted an article.

Headline implies it’s the pharmacy’s fault, but just sounds more like he was self medicating and overdosed on painkillers. Not that it’s important, just interesting how newspapers like to create a narrative… online pharmacy evil, poor unsuspecting customer taken advantage off.
(Obviously the pharmacy is illegally supplying the drugs, but I’m pretty sure most people going down this route realise what they’re doing)
Title is misleading. The article says that the online pharmacy didn’t tell the victim what dose of medication to take. The victim died of benzodiazepine toxicity, from taking large doses of a tranquilizer over a long period of time.
The problem was not that the website prescribed “too many pills” but that they gave no guidance about the appropriate dose. The online pharmacy is described as being illegal, and not following professional standards.
It appears that the Sun journalist did not have a good understanding of the case, which is why the title was poorly written.
Dude bought medication. Decided to self medicate but didn’t do research of what doses are appropriate. Dies.
Somehow it’s everyone’s fault but not this dude?
Also, not gonna lie, I’d love to know where he got his meds from because when I did thorough research I couldn’t find any such place lol.
People hand waving this sort of thing away should remember America is experiencing an ongoing opioid crisis, often with people simply starting on the medication for genuine pain relief and it getting out of control (Which seems to be exactly what happened here).
