      Don’t. There will be plenty of amazing professional photos taken that will be a million times better than what you take. Just enjoy it without your phone.

      Put it on a tripod and record totality +/- 10 min and your reaction. Phones are spectacular at doing this. You won’t fry it.

      If you’re really set on it, try taking a picture of the moon on a clear night. Size and brightness are roughly correct. That’ll give you an idea as to whether it’s worth using your phone to take pics of the eclipse.
