Amazon ist voller Müll-E-Books. Teils handelt es sich um KI, teils um einen Plan, mit dem man schnell reich werden kann, und völlig schlecht für verwirrte Verbraucher.

Why you should support your local brick and mortar bookstore. AI scam garbage is going to flood the internet similar to Kipple, the self-replicating junk from Phil K Dick’s novels

Always use the ‘check inside’ read a sample b4 buying, there are 1000s of shitty Ai copies on Amazon.
Alternatively, look up the ISBN number.

  3. Some time last year I seen a video that talked about the junk books.

Namely, people using screenshots from youtube videos, and using speech to text to write most of the book, using statements from the videos.

The best examples the video went over, were from videos of Hermitcraft, a community of players who play Minecraft.

  4. Headline fix: “Amazon is filled with garbage, and entirely bad for consumers.”

I have seen a fairly inexperienced acquaintance publish a book about their “journey” that basically is nothing more than a vacation blog with some spirituality nonsense sprinkled in.

It’s a free for all at this point, which is in one way is great for budding writers but also makes it much harder for good ones to stand out from mundane cliche-filled crap.

Not just ebooks. Lots of good they sell is garbage too. Especially shit from Chinese sellers who have Amazon send stuff is utter crap most of the times. And you can hardly find stuff that is not from a Chinese seller except mostly food.

  7. Same goes for (Rakuten) Kobo’s store.

And this is a problem that predates “AI” by many years.

Can’t even trust the reviews as they’re all generated by bots.

We’re in the end game now.
