      The latest I picked up from the rumor channnels from the dark side of the force, those shovels you are refering too, are latest tech given to them for modern , state of the art, anti-drone warefare.

      Just stick a battery in the back of the handle and point it in the general direction, if it comes closer, witch is the point of the flat, shovel shaped antenna, to draw it nearer, you start franticly flapping with it, to widen the disruptive anti-drone signal.

      And if it sucseeded as planned, it exploded exactly near you, so you have prevented it from exploding near another possible target.

      As reward you will recieve a postumes award, written “ty for yr service” IF your remains are found and repatriated after the war is over.

      Now that’s what I call progress with a sniff of sarcasm !
