That’s goning to suck. Their system is already a gong show that doesn’t work half the time.
And this is the company administering the public service health and dental care plans.
For fuck sakes.
They need to give their sales people bonuses. How they convinced the government to move thousands of employees onto their horrendous platform is one of the best sale closes of all time.
Canada Life’s parent go is absolutely garbage. Power Financial was once a proud Canadian company. Now it’s a profitmonger like the rest of corporations out there. All its subsidiaries are rampantly cutting costs, worsening service, and actively hostile towards any Canadians that aren’t fabulously wealthy.
Oh no, now how will they not answer emails or respond to voicemails from people desperate to get the benefits that they pay handsomely for?
If you’ve worked for Canada Life or any lifeco in a Technology function, this probably isn’t surprising. Lifecos products (seg funds, life insurance, annuities) aren’t appealing to millennials and gen-z. Canadian lifecos have been around since the 70s and are sitting on a heap of legacy tech and coincidentally legacy talent. Insurance industry is traditionally conservative and I’d say most lifecos have missed their opportunity to adapt and transform in any meaningful way.
In the long run it would make sense for Power corp to restructure or sell the lifeco business. It has no future because the window for innovation in that space is now closed.
Next, our coverage.
They have not processed my claim for weeks now. Neither approved nor denied. I gave up and I am not even trying to contact them anymore. It was around 80 dollars. They can keep it.
Classic example of outsourcing…give it to the bottom bidder, sales execs and execs in general get a fat bonus. Government gets to say, “we saved money”, and you know, “fiscal responsibility”…
Then it turns into a shit-show, and people wonder why I choose a government-run agency over private sector for public services.
It’s the same people doing the same job, but for better pay and conditions. It’s less money for billionaires, though, so we can’t have that.
Fuck the CPC. Fuck the LPC. Vote NDP.
Hopefully replacing them with more adjusters and service staff.
They are the worst to deal with, take way longer than Sunlife to adjust claims.
