      It’s not the low level desktop garbagewares that they need to worry about. But actually a big competitive one like Yandex that slowly becoming as good as Google year by year. There is also VK social media that pull in so many users because it’s not heavily moderated to please advertisers like western counterpart, they only have to appease to the big brother at Kremlin and a handfuls of oligarchs who doesn’t care much.

      It’s odd. There was a time when Kaspersky had a sterling reputation and was the best, lightest weight A/V there was. That was… I don’t know…. maybe 15 years ago?

      “National security concern” is being a really convenient tactic to ban foreign competition. Show actual proof not fearmongering.
