      Bruno Mars participated as a producer in this song and Rosé is listed as a main songwriter! Two of them will also perform later today at MAMA Awards (the Japanese show, not US one), hopefully Rosé will sing ‘number one girl’ as well as ‘APT’.

      There is something about this and APT that is so familiar. Like I have listened to it before but it still feels new?? Idk haha

      I’m in love with this song. I’ve been waiting for post-YG Rose solo music and it’s even better than I could imagine. First APT, then number one girl, I’m so so excited for this album

      I really never vibe with ballads but this one is amazing and definitely a playlist add. The whole vibe is amazing and this song is just it can’t wait for the album

      I like how the track and MV is more subdued in comparison to “APT.” It really shows Rosé’s versatility as an artist and I think we’ll hear more of that as more of *rosie* is unveiled.

      Also this can be also interpreted as idol vs stans, how they the stans love and build their idols up but just one thing happens and the love turns into extreme hate.. idols need to live for and according to their stans, even one step out of the like and they’re thrown away with the next big thing taking up their space

      Speaking as a total casual, ROSÉ is a star. Like I see her and think, wow this woman is destined for greatness as an artist. It’s honestly such a pleasure witnessing her career

      >”Number One Girl” was written on a day when all Rosé could really think about was how she was being perceived by the public. “I had been on the internet ‘til like 5am – I couldn’t sleep because I was so obsessed with what these people were gonna say about me and what I wanted them to say about me,” she recalls. “I was so disgusted at myself for it – I never wanted to admit it to anyone, I didn’t even want to admit it to myself. But I had to be fully honest in the studio.”

      >For songwriter Amy Allen, who worked on the album, “Number One Girl” is Rosé “in a nutshell.” “Being a massive pop star, there’s so many things to be constantly juggling and handling, and having your personal life as well – it’s [like] a revolving door,” she says. “I think it’s really scary to dig into that sometimes, but it seemed to me as though the mission statement was always just to try and approach it with as much honesty as humanly possible.”
