No shit. This was always going to happen, especially when they’re setting up dedicated “hate crime reprinting hubs”.

    >*Brown said today: “I was surprised myself on Monday to receive a call from Police Scotland about my complaint – this was a fake complaint someone had done anonymously in my name, and gave my office number.*

Good I hope they overload the reporting system with this shit. The people are taking action against another daft law put in place against seemingly everyone’s wishes.

Don’t forget to report Hamza Yusufs racist tirade in Holyrood.

The law is badly thought out. Overload it so that they are forced to change it!

The issue is that the SNP tend to think everyone sees “hate” the same as them except a tiny minority of bad people. But things like religion and perceived religious identity are tied to personal identity in Scotland in often complex ways and people can perceive being the victim of a race based crime different to anticipated.

I thought we had all got this out our systems with the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act 2012, but here we are again.

There is a side to this of non crimes being recorded on a database that may be used for job background checks etc. This act may expand the amount of activities that get caught up by that.

This is going to end up with lot of vexatious reporting over football fans being offended over the smallest thing.

  6. There’s going to be a further wave of subject access requests as people try to find out if they have non crime hate incidents logged against them.
