It went up 3 Cents. My premier raised it higher than that. Yet. I see them protesting. It reminds me of politics from the American south. Faux outrage. The only reason we’re in this hard time is because of our corporate overlords. Taking tax payers money. Paying nothing in taxes .

O&G has enough favors as it is. The protesters should be sending their inflation message to the O&G profiteers.

  3. NP manipulating Canadians with conspiracy theories to distract them from industries literally raping them for profit.

Just like Covid, nothing to do with what they say it is. They just wanna rage and fuck shit up.

Can people please just stop blocking roads? Protest if you want but take it to Parliament or the Legislativegrounds…leave us regular people alone.

The most alarming thing about this whole thing is you quickly learn that Canada is connected at a few points by basically one road.

That kind of single point failure is pretty silly and should be addressed.  As we have seen the country severed in two on more then one occasion

Edit : it’s also true of our rail lines. Both should be addressed

Not winning any hearts and minds this way. It’s kinda sad to watch. I suspect someone is intentionally misleading them.

Gas in BC went up 30 cents in March (including huge hikes the day before spring break started and just before the Easter long weekend)… where were these protests then?

Aren’t these the same people calling for climate change activists to be run over for doing the same thing?

It’s a country not a business could they stop trying make a profit off their citizens?

You figure that it’s called the Trans-canada highway would scare these chucklefucks away from it.

  12. >“By nature, Canada is carbon zero; our boreal forests make us that way. Plus, if you get rid of too much carbon, trees breathe carbon; they expel oxygen for us to breathe. If we get rid of too much carbon, all of our trees are going to die.”

    They aren’t sending their brightest.

  13. I drove past this today and 95% of the protestors vehicles were huge trucks with lift kits and big tires and tons of flags behind the vehicle. If these people are so concerned about gas prices maybe they should get a more efficient vehicle.

When First Nations do it, Tories want to call in the army.
When right-wing chuds do it, it’s oh-so righteous.

Protests? I drove 8 hours, mostly on the Trans Canada and only saw a few butt-hurt nut bars near a gas station approaching Calgary. That’s a protest?

  16. Foodwraith on

I don’t know what these people are going to do with all their Fuck Trudeau swag when he’s gone.

  17. Ffs… why don’t people protest against something that matters? Like the state of healthcare. Schools. Housing.

The carbon tax is a minor inconvenience. Its not breaking anyone. Meanwhile, people are actually DYING in hospital hallways.

  18. r/Canada Redditors be like:

“A few people is what you call a protest? lol”

“Why can’t they protest at Parliament Hill?”

“Why are they at Parliament Hill?”

“Why can’t they just complain about Canada on Reddit instead, if they really want to make a difference?”

“You don’t know what you’re going to get by voting the opposition, so better to stick with what you know.”

“You wanna see ‘just the beginning’? Hold my beer.”

  20. If this wasn’t a liberal government, they would not be protesting.

    Carbon Taxes aren’t killing us.

    Greed is.

    Raise Corporate taxes

  21. I’m going to protest a tax on oil and gas by making people waste oil and gas. Genius!

Why are these morons fighting big businesses fight? “8 out of 10 households get more money back than they spend on the fuel charge.” The other 2 are millionaires & big businesses who pollute the MOST! Damn right tax them more!

  24. victoriapark111 on

Sooo… Daniel Smith just added 4cents a litre gas tax vs Trudeau’s 3cent a litre. You’ll totally be consistent and block traffic around the provincial capital, right?

  25. ynotbuagain on

Corporate profits at an all time high yet let’s blame JT & the carbon tax?! Stop fighting for millionaires! Look at pp/cons track record of voting against workers rights! Anything But Conservative!
