Die Ukraine habe das uneingeschränkte Recht, sich gegen die russische Aggression zu verteidigen, und könne nicht zur Gebietsabtretung gezwungen werden, antwortete Ungarns Wahlsieger Peter Magyar am 13. April auf eine Frage eines Kiewer Independent-Reporters.
"Wenn jemand das sagt – egal, wie lange Fidesz-Politiker schon Ähnliches gesagt haben –, sollten Sie ihn fragen, was passieren würde, wenn Russland Ungarn angreifen würde: Welchen ungarischen Landkreis würden sie aufgeben?" sagte Magyar auf einer Pressekonferenz.
"Das ist ein empörendes, zynisches Gerede, das unserer Helden und Freiheitskämpfer von 1956 unwürdig ist." sagte der neue ungarische Ministerpräsident und zog Vergleiche mit der antikommunistischen Revolution Ungarns von 1956.
Bei den Parlamentswahlen am 12. April sicherte sich die Tisza-Partei von Magyar einen überwältigenden Sieg über die Fidesz von Ministerpräsident Viktor Orban und beendete damit Orbans 16-jährige Machtübernahme.
Die Wahlen fanden zu einem entscheidenden Zeitpunkt für die Ukraine statt, da Orban – der weithin als der kremlfreundlichste Führer der EU gilt – einen 90-Milliarden-Euro-Kredit für Kiew und das 20. Paket von Russland-Sanktionen blockiert.

I have high hopes in this guy!
I’ll wait to celebrate until the administration takes action but I hope this adds stress and further depletes our enemies.
I am now willing to visit Budapest. I have boycotted Hungary because of Orban. The same way that I won’t visit the United States again for as long as that clown is president.
Glad the people of Hungary have overwhelmingly voted Orban out. I was deeply worried it might be a 50,01% victory or something and Orban might declare himself victorious. But thankfully the wise people of Hungary absolutely destroyed him with this outcome.

Tens of thousands of Russian lives seems like a low estimate.
I don’t think anyone disagrees with these comments. I interpret Donald’s comments not to mean that Ukraine must give up territory, I think he means that is the only way to end the war today and the dying. Regardless, that is 100% a Ukrainian decision and no one else’s. I hope and pray the war ends and Ukraine is victorious.
