Colour me surprised.
Did they even say “thank you” though?
JD Vance:
> „The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. And I think that’s bad news for Iran much more than it’s bad news for the United States of America. So, we go back to the U.S. having not come to an agreement. They have chosen not to accept our terms.“
So in other words – Iran plays the Trump administration and continues to control the Strait.
Fart of the deal.
Vance is giving up and it hasn’t even been a full day. Didn’t mention anything about the strait. Blames it on Iran’s nuclear aspirations. It makes no sense. This administration is a joke.
Vance has been making inroads on a particular Persian sectional, however.
Why would Iran trust the US?
Shocking that a deal more complicated than the JCPOA that took over a year to negotiate can’t be negotiated in a weekend.
Meanwhile trump showing how much he cares attending a UFC fight in Miami while negotiations to end a war of choice he started that’s hurting Americans pocketbooks are going on. Trump really doesn’t care about optics anymore lol
JD Vance failed to negotiate buying a donut
I don’t get it. He wore a suit and brought an entire pack of cards. What could have gone wrong?
Is this pumping or dumping? I’ve lost track.
Vance is no diplomat.
But did JD say thank you?
its so creepy that the US attacks a country and killing 160 children after years of bombing the negotiators and ripping up deals, then declares the other side unreasonable.
internet comments are full of „the evil hardliners in the government must have wrestled control from the good guys! Why arent they giving us a deal if they didnt?!“
if Iran did this to America, they wouldnt be any talk of making a deal and no one would expect America to.
no one expected America to make a deal with bin laden after 9/11.
its like people lost their independent thought and just has the president make their opinions for them.
Of course not. JD is incapable of making a deal. Or you kidding me???
What is Shitler thinking? I know he isn’t thinking as he is flying by the seat of his Pants. OMG. WAKE UP PEPS
Bibi is probably ecstatic about that. Vance, meanwhile is going to try and figure out how to blame this on Biden in his 2028 campaign.
Hmm…something tells me it’s time to sell.
It’s JD’s turn to be the fall guy.
Its almost like Vance and Trump and Miller and MAGA don’t want an agreement…hmm who could have seen this coming?
Vance can’t afford to get a deal because any deal will be his deal. That’s why Trump sent him.
And any deal they do get will be a L
If this Vance deal fails he owns it and this war. His presidential ambitions would be finished.
Art of the deal! So much winning!
It’s clear the whole thing was fake to begin with.
The shit Vance was talking about like a firm commitment to not enrich uranium should never have taken place in this phase of a ceasefire negotiation. They didn’t talk about the strait of Hormuz at all which is the most acute part of this entire conflict at the moment.
Just a fucking clown show and a whole lot of people are going to die yet before this is over.
Iran should offer its most virgin la z boy
This is the least surprising outcome here, and I doubt that anyone was negotiating in good faith.
How many Americans and how many Iranians died for this failure? Oh and my tank was $75 to fill yesterday. Energy bills up, too, big time. When will this nightmare end?
21 hours in a room with Vance? I’ll pass…..
But we had our best real estate developer/president’s golf buddy, opportunistic faux hillbilly/fake charity-runner and grifting president’s son-in-law on the job. What possibly could have gone wrong?
This is so weird, why are they negotiating an agreement that they already in a war they started to prevent a nuclear program that was “obliterated” last year?
Surprising that Jared couldn’t move the needle. Or Witkoff. /s
Neither of which are professional diplomats. Whenever they show up corruption and racketeering are in order. An organized crime family that US mass media refuses to acknowledge, but isn’t lost on other countries.
It took the Obama administration two years to reach an agreement with Iran on just the nuclear enrichment.
Imagine thinking this would ever work with Vance, Kushner, and Witkoff. Give me a break.
This administration has been outplayed since they started this war and are in a much worse position.
And now I’m paying for it. We all are.
So what now boys?
What a joke.
Sending real estate investors Kushner and Witkoff, who already failed last time round and have no qualifications to be negotiating at this level, plus JD Vance, a man known for his fine sense of diplomacy, to this negotiation says everything you need to know about the state of this administration. It’s a total shitshow
After 21 hours of talking with Vance and Jared Kushner, I would be in no mood to negotiate or agree with anything they said. I would probably kill myself. Diplomacy is not a skill set that the Trump boys possess. Also, Bullying is not a good negotiating tactic if you are serious about solving a problem that has existed for the past 2000+ years in the Middle East.
We sent 3 idiots.
Trump doesn’t „have the cards.“
Iran is demanding immediate sanction relief, withdrawal of all US forces, war reparations, full control over the Strait of Hormuz, acceptance of enrichment, and the ability to impose fees on ships and tankers traveling through the Strait.
And to be clear, Iran was not in any position to make these types of demands before the war. It’s humiliating for Trump.
Because due to his poor planning, arrogance and incompetence, Iran now believes they have significant leverage in disputes over their sovereignty, their control over the Strait, and even the fate of their nuclear weapons program. Frankly, they’re right…
They now have the capacity and will to impose huge costs on the Gulf.
They have a hold on the global economy through the Strait of Hormuz.
And they’ve demonstrated that they’re willing to endure an extreme economic and infrastructurial toll.
Worse yet, China is indicating that it plans to fortify Iran’s air defenses and missile supplies, and Trump can’t do shit about it because China has already adapted to his threats of tariffs and trade wars.
Trump, the genius deal maker and war time leader he is, has conceded bargaining power to Iran in these matters because he never had a coherent strategy for a drawn out conflict and he foolishly dismissed warnings about Strait of Hormuz closures before the war.
Trump clearly didn’t even acknowledge the terms of Iran’s proposal in the first place.
He was so desperate for a deal that he just blindly accepted whatever offer was made so he could claim victory and rest a little easier knowing that crude oil prices would drop, markets would pump, and maybe his approval ratings would stop sinking in the interim.
Because all Trump really cares about are his ratings, the direction the market is going, and being able to sell a narrative to the public that reflects positively on him, regardless of how distorted that narrative might be.
But in reality, the US has little to show for its efforts and everything to lose.
The Strait remains ostensibly closed, Iran’s air defenses are still operational, the IRGC is still active in the Gulf, Israel is still itching for conflict, and the Islamic regime has already signaled once that it may abandon the ceasefire because several conditions have either been violated, rebuked or ignored, especially by Israel.
Human rights groups are even calling Israel’s attacks on Lebanon war crimes.
Trump decided to go to war on a „gut feeling“ even though US intelligence and his own aides cautioned against it.
Back in February of last year, Netanyahu met with Trump to pitch the idea of a joint US-Israel military intervention. Trump agreed almost immediately.
Afterwards, US intelligence went to work quickly to decide if this strategy would be practical. But the head of the CIA himself called it „farcical.“
This all begs the question, what the fuck have we actually accomplished?
The theocratic, militant and repressive regime remains intact.
The IRGC is still a powerful authority in the region.
Iran maintains their hold on nuclear materials and missile supplies.
The Iranian people have not been „liberated,“ and it’s quite obvious now that the US/Israel never intended to be their liberators, something many Iranians have come to realize.
Additionally, millions have been displaced, US troops are dead, thousands of civilians have been killed, some of them CHILDREN, and the population of Iran is traumatized.
And this doesn’t even include the sheer economic cost of this war for American taxpayers, and European and Middle East allies alike,
To make matters worse, Trump is threatening our alliances and souring the world against us. To the point where our once friendly democratic partners are now seriously considering a new world order that excludes the U.S.
So despite the White House’s desperate efforts to spin this into some kind of „victory,“ the reality is, the US and Iran can’t even agree on the basic conditions of this so-called ceasefire deal, and operation epic failure has been just that.
And after everything that’s happened, Trump would probably be thrilled to make a deal that resembles the previous JCPOA he abandoned out of spite for Obama. But he’s not in a position to negotiate for anything even comparable to the agreement he once called „the worst deal ever.“
This is what is supposed to happen when you send 2 real estate developers and the Maybelline spokesman to negotiate a peace deal.
Didn’t Obama have a deal and some orange freak ripped it all up?
John Kerry had to move to Switzetland for TWO YEARS to negotiate the Iran nuclear deal that Trump tore up. I doubt 21 hours is going to cut it.
Trump and Marco Rubio are in Miami right now at a UFC fight. We are not a serious country.
Oh no! Our Great Negotiators were unable to come to an agreement with Iran ☹️ who knew that it took more than a weekend to negotiate the end to a war???
