Black: 81.46% = 50,486,856 people
Coloured: 8.15% = 5,052,349 people
White: 7.30% = 4,504,252 people
Indian: 2.74% = 1,697,506 people
Other: 0.40%
White people reached a peak percentage in South Africa in 1911 at 22.7%. These are the % of white people in South Africa in different years:
1904: 21.58% = 1,116,805
1921: 21.93% = 1,519,488
1936: 20.90% = 2,003,857
1960: 19.30% = 3,088,492
1970: 17.1% = 3,792,848
1980: 18.1% = 4,522,000
1986: 17.3% = 4,900,000
1991: 13.4% = 5,068,300
1995: 12.7% = 5,224,000 (peak population of whites in numbers)
2000: 10.4% = 4,521,664
2010: 9.2% = 4,584,700
2020: 7.8% = 4,679,770
