      Nowhere in this article does it say he says marrying a 9 year old TODAY was acceptable, he said that the Quran… revealed 1400 years ago… allowed marriage to a female who had begun menstruation at that time… ie Muhammad and Aisha… and her age is also mostly accepted to be 14, not 9

      How old was Rebekah when she married Isaac?!? Some Christians and Jews believe she was 3, there’s no indication she was 18+ or close to anything which we would be acceptable today

      Times were different back then, it’s not just in Islam, but in early Christianity and Judaism as well. There’s countless scientific evidence that backs that a 14 year old 1400 years ago was completely different from a 14 year old today… physically, mentally, psychologically, literally in every way

      Being 17.99 yo and being 18.00 yo is literally the same thing outside of the law, nothing happens in that one night you turn 18. Yes, marrying a 9 yo today is crazy, majority of Muslims believe that, but it’s crazy to see headlines like this and conclude that Islam promotes pedophilia, especially when you get an incomplete misleading article and headline like this

      No one 1400 was objecting to their marriage based on age, Aisha’s own father allowed it. The biggest and most staunch opponents of Islam said nothing regarding it… what does that tell you? It was acceptable back then. No one is saying it’s acceptable today.

      Ot confuses me..this has been historic in much of the world. The state can say it is not legal in this country, even the state of Tennessee tried to make any age of girl forced to have swx with any age man, in or outside marriage, if the man believes it is a spiritual connection.

      People need to separate religion from cultural practices
      Both things are separate
