ss: Quantum magnetometers, including diamond NV-center sensors and optically pumped magnetometers can detect very weak magnetic signals without the bulky cryogenic hardware older systems needed. Researchers really have found human cardiac magnetic signals with these tools.

  2. So…surely this is bullshit to mislead rivals down a dead end research route AND to cover for the asset that got them the location, right?

I am generally pretty up on forward looking tech and I have never heard anything about this.

Scientific American already has a short article on this. There is basically no way this exists. Quantum magnetometers work at a couple of centimeters. The noise involved in detecting a heartbeat miles away would be astronomical.

Would be interesting to calculate if it is even physically possible to detect a heartbeat with a detectable signal-to-noise ratio at that distance.

Just like the pure physics of isolating a faint signal like that from dozens of miles away and being able to filter out the billion other possible EM sources is just fantasy. This is a psy op misdirection

Edit: just even thinking more on this makes me realize how stupid it is. This is an active warzone with active radar, jamming, etc. this would make any detections hard. Then let’s imagine this is, y’know, earth… A place where there would be thousands of lizards, foxes, cats, mice, whatever in every square mile also with heartbeats. And maybe even enemy combatants walking around too looking for the pilot with identical heartbeat signals. This entire thing is so dumb.

  5. Trump literally said how it unfolded, they just used a drone with a thermal to locate from known coordinates that the pilot himself sent with his beacon. It’s not a secret that they can read number plates from miles up in the sky

  6. Sensors or sense-oars?

Always picture them using an array of different dishes and whatnot to scan within several different parameters and get more information.

Also the sad realization that all those pings and such being sent out into the wild and civilization might have secondary harmful effects.

I feel like if this technology actually existed we would be using it to murder people on the battlefield, and not blab about it.

Its a psyop like the Regan Starwars program. The star wars program was to get the Ruskies wasting their R&D time
