      It’s a logical progression isn’t it… Some new kind of „Church“ in the USA totally separated from the rest. Priests with chest tattoos and AR15s and so on

      It would be interesting to see the US attempt to create an American Avignon papacy.

      Not very bright on their side. Papacy in Avignon had the result of a bunch of antipopes running around and splitting the church.

      Yes it was a huge power flex by the King of France, but at that time France was by far the biggest Catholics power in the world, while the USA is not a Catholics country.

      If Trump is following this closely the history of France and the pope, then we can only conclude he wants to be blessed by the pope as he is crowned emperor, just like Napoléon did.

      I doubt this is true, because i don’t see how a current US admin member could know history enough for this example :p
