      With just hours to go until Trump’s 8 p.m. ET deadline for Iran to strike a deal, the White House said Trump has “been made aware of the proposal, and a response will come,” in regards to diplomatic efforts by Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging Trump to give negotiations more time.

      Trump also told Fox News, in a phone interview, said he would be fully briefed on the proposal and called Sharif a „highly respected man.“

      „I can’t tell you, because right now. We’re in heated negotiations,“ Trump said when asked how he felt about the talks.

      The Iranian regime’s reaction to Pakistan’s request was not immediately clear.

      Here’s what happens when you threaten the most extreme thing….if you dont follow through then nobody will take you seriously no matter what you threaten. American might will be neutered and any respect or fear we had will be gone. On the other hand, if you follow through you are a monster and everyone will start planning to kill you and your country. So maybe its never smart to threaten to kill an entire civilization. Im not a heartless, soulless politician so maybe I dont see all the angles but I dont see anyone with a brain defending any of this.

      Pakistan doesnt even need to get involved, the US was the one beating their chest and rattling their sabres. If the US wants a ceasefire just stop bombing them. 100% of Irans strikes have been retaliatory. To get them to stop, simply stop first.

      In a post on his social media site on Tuesday evening, Trump said Iran could agree “to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz” and said that he’d then “suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks.”

      Since the war began in February, Trump has set a series of deadlines threatening escalation of the conflict, only to backoff just before they expire.
