      The YouTube channel „Whats Going on with Shopping“ has been going into detail on what shipping has not been happening. He only talks about shipping, not so much what the impacts to any specific commodity are. He also links to shipping information sources.

      But the average number of ships through the Straights of Hormux was 138 ships per day. Recently 12 ships made it through in one day, many days none made it through. That means shipping is 1500 shiploads behind (half in, half out). Even if the problem went away right now, the effects will last for months. The supply train for many things from that region to the users are a month or more. All sorrts of things like fertilizer, not just oil, are about to get really scacce or very expensive.

      We’ve seen this coming for ten years at least and we’ve done nothing about it.

      On a positive side not it seems like ships are slowly starting to trickle through the strait again. All you need to do is to condemn the US and Israel, do not support them in any way and pay a fee in currencies other than the dollar. Seems like a no brainer to me

      Hopefully the EU can come to a diplomatic agreement with Iran to let EU vessels through so it primarily is only the US that is affected.
