The countries handling this the best are the ones who get most of their power from renewable. This will absolutely make others change their plan and adopt less fossil fuels. We should fillow suit. Nuclear, solar, wind with battery backup, where needed. More EVs and infrastructure for charging.

I’d absolutely love to switch but prices are still too high at this point in my life, even used. I don’t know when I’m ready to buy, but this will be my last ICE car for sure

People who were due to buy cars during this anyway will definitely have a serious think about an EV.

That’s not the same thing as a permanent shift, though it could be.

What I hope this does is push more EV options.

I’d still like an EV option without all the always-online requirements. I want a car with an electric engine. Not a data-harvesting smart-device with wheels.

    4. Used model 3 are sub 30k here in Vancouver, never been a better time to buy them . Very reliable cars especially 2022 and up had heat pumps for efficiency.

I mean, the sales of gas passenger vehicles peaked 9 years ago, globally.

Maybe this will accelerate it, but it was already inevitable.
