      This war has given Iran’s regime a cover to eliminate opposition figures and dissenter on mass scale.

      If the regime is able to take such actions despite under ongoing strikes on them then Trump’s claim of destroying the regime appears fake or farfetched.

      A big protest arising in the future in Iran is inevitable but I think the fate of the protestors and protests will remain unchanged.

      Before commenting people should:

      1) Read the article.

      2) Look up who the MEK are.

      Not pretending the Iranian regime is wholesome but this is not just the regime finding an excuse to be evil and kill some human rights activists. These guys have killed more Iranian public officials than anyone else, fought with Saddam in the Iran-Iraq war, and are a top resource for the CIA/Mossad. The definition of an enemy within.

      Because I’m sure few actually read the articles anymore… The „banned opposition group“ mentioned in the headline is the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) which has been listed as a terrorist organization in Iran for 40+ years (they sided with Saddam’s Iraq against Iran during the 1980s war), and have been designated as a terrorist organization in neighbouring Iraq since 2003. They’ve apparently renounced violence, which got them de-listed as a terrorist org in many Western countries.

      Who knows if these guys were even truly members of the MEK or if that’s just a useful excuse to hang some protesters/opponents of the regime (probably).
