I came across this German aerial map of the Isle of Dogs from the Blitz. The red markings are specific targets. They weren’t just bombing at random.
The list at the bottom shows they were targeting the grain silos (food supply) and the Greenwich power station. They even marked the „Flak“ positions where the British anti-aircraft guns were. Seeing the neighborhood mapped out as a clinical hit list is a weird feeling.
