      What is the ultimatatum really? I mean, they are already out there with guns and bombs trying to take it. If anything, a verbal threat is a downgrade in hostility.

      Conquering the valuable resources of the Donbas and completely cutting Ukraine off from the sea will render the rest of Ukraine („not needed part“) uninteresting to both NATO and the EU.
