    It’s pretty cool but ultimately probably not very practical. Extracting and separating the compounds at scale would likely be a pain.

    Much easier to use individual yeast strains which pump the compounds into the growth medium. There are companies already doing this successfully.

    So when are they selling the seeds of this ornamental plant I’d like to add to my other houseplants? Or is it a zone 3 perennial?

  3. TLDR Genetic engineering. DMT originally from plants; psilocin and psilocybin from mushrooms; and bufotenin and 5-MeO-DMT from toads grown in Tobacco plants. They competed for resources so some showed up in higher concentrations than others.
