Treating allies differently from fairly antagonistic neighbors? Unheard of.

Sure they would have. United nation and its rules are a joke to some countries.

Japan was not the aggressor in World War II and accounts of a notorious massacre by Japanese soldiers in Nanking, China, were a hoax, Japan’s new justice minister said in an interview published Wednesday.

    > The police quoted Murata as saying to investigators, “I tried to convey my opinions to the ambassador,” and that if his thoughts were rejected, “I was planning to surprise them by taking my own life.”

    > Matsui partially denied the charges during police questioning, stating, „I did take the money, but it was for harassment purposes, so I had no intention of keeping it for myself.“

So, basically the analysis is that since Takaichi got to where she is by antagonizing China, she and her cabinet fears that handling this event and apologising normally will make her supporters think she lost her spine.

So, dumb face-saving measures to save the polls. Which likely isn’t helping as her support is already plummeting from the supply embargo bringing real economic pain and her kissing Trump’s ass like a hostess.
