    South Carolina grenzt an North Carolina und Georgia (2) vs. South-Car-o-lin-a (5); Es hat also drei Silben mehr als Staatsgrenzen.

    Ten-nes-see (3) vs. Missouri, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas (8) -> 8 – 3 = 5

      This feels like something my second grade teacher would have us do, not explain the instructions, and get pissed that no one understands what we were supposed to do.

      Michigan borders Illinois and Minnesota in addition to the other three land connected states. This means it should be the second tier blue color.
