      On 1 april 2001, at exactly midnight, the very first legal same-sex marriages were performed, not just in the Netherlands, but anywhere in the world. Four couples said “I do,” and in doing so, they became part of history.

      This wasn’t just a symbolic moment. It marked the first time a country fully recognized marriage equality in law, setting the stage for a global movement that would follow in the years after.

      And then Germany sat on the fence until after progressive juggernauts like Colombia, Brazil, AmeriKKKa did it before them. lol

      Raise a glass for the Netherlands, the true champion, showing the way to her neighbours.

      And that is also where the country remained stuck in progressive values, to now the current state of tumbling down the ILGA rainbow index being caught up left and right.

      The propaganda about LGBT rights from the Netherlands gets touted so much, all the while people are being left in the dust.
