  1. I kinda like it as an idea, but it would be a waste of money to do this everywhere

  2. What about the people driving, something that would sync to their phones maybe so they could see the lights go green and take off, rather than sitting there for 3 or 4 seconds not moving.

  3. Will work for a few months, break and never be fixed just like a massive number of ground level street lighting across the city centre that isn’t maintained.

The noise the pedestrian lights make is already fine for making people notice they’ve gone green.
Also, for all we complain as a nation, I’ve never been anywhere else that has every pedestrian light that makes a noise. It’s probably quite shit if you were blind anywhere else.

  5. They have these in Seoul and yes they are genuinely very useful, like let’s not pretend you don’t check your phone at these lights. Especially tourists who’ll be checking Google maps or whatever.

Zombie lights as they are called in South Korea due to fact they are to draw attention to users on their phones ,they also have them at Tara st.

  7. I nearly knocked down a girl who walked straight in front of me glued to her phone. If I was going any faster I would have

I let out the most unmerciful blast of the car horn as she had absolutely no idea that she was nearly knocked down. Hopefully it learnt her, learnt her good
