    Wir schreiben das Jahr 2026… ist das wirklich notwendig?


    Wenn ich ein neues Telefon einrichte, fällt mir das natürlich schwer.

      You can switch to other forms of MFA, including biometrics.

      I have the reader and I’m keeping it, because it’s simple, reliable, and absolutely bulletproof from a security point of view.

      They want me to use my face, but i’d much rather use the little card reader.

      I tho8ght they were made useless by/with mobile banking…….havent used mine in years

      My wife lost her little reader thing.

      She keeps her card in my wallet because I still carry a wallet.

      She pays for everything with her phone.

      I tell her it’s a dangerous game the day some transaction needs to be verified haha

      Yes. Because you are still bent over with butt cheeks spread for that shambles of a bank.

      Even my grandparents had the sense to leave them after banking with them most of their lives.

      uhh yeah? These are standard across most banks.

      Now more than ever, security is something that has to be taken seriously.

      Partially unrelated with this topic. AIB is collecting your biometric (aka face scan) photo when using the app as replacement of the card reader. So it’s not on demand check on app side, your photo gets uploaded to AIB

      I moved to online banks, N26 and Revolut, both miles ahead of any of the old school banks, never looked back.
      I never use cash anyway, can’t even remember the last time, it has been multiple years.
      I do have a free AIB account still, but the free one banks must offer these days, just so in the extremely rare case I get cash somewhere and want to put it in the bank, so I funnel it through AIB. Did that exactly once, 3 years or so ago. Since the account is free, no harm keeping it for that, but would not pay for it.

      They have multiple options. If you don’t want to use this one, switch to one of the others.

      I like it’s old skool hardware that has no WiFi, sim or lan connection. Old but gold

      Had this when buying a car.. what a pain in the ass.. the biometric thing needed to be checked and it was the wknd. Next time im putting the money in revolute first
