That’s great and all but what’s going to happen in 20 years when southbound Yonge trains are full from York Region riders before they even reach Steeles Ave.?
I hope there is more funding earmarked for other cities as well. With the reduction in the Transit fund, there is money there to be used. Vancouver would certainly benefit from continuing to employe the now trained workers from the Broadway subway and SLS on a new project once those wrap up in a few years.
One day, the province and feds will pay attention to Ottawa for something other than forcing RTO. Just a little bit for transit. Please.
I’m glad Toronto is getting this, as we need to be building more and more transit, rapid transit, etc across our nation…but Jesus…
Winnipeg! Come on Winnipeg! We’re approaching 1 million, and we have 1 BRT line, and we’re only now budgeting $5M for a dedicated line DESIGNS, for a downtown portion that has zero funding right now, and maybe build a 1.5km dedicated line.
And Winnipeg politicians are like “there’s no money for this!”
With the way politics are south of the border let’s just take a moment to appreciate that three politicians, from three different parties and with very different political views, can still come together and get something done to benefit the people.
