Warum hat Belgien direkt neben Luxemburg eine Provinz namens „Luxemburg“, die größer als Luxemburg ist?

  1. Luxembourg and Belgium were part of the United Netherlands (Luxembourg via Personal Union)

Until the Belgians decided they didn’t want to be part of the United Netherlands any more (with some French help)

But they couldn’t agree how to split Luxembourg and Limburg, so Britain, Russia, Germany, France and Germany decided to get involved.

And now we have 2 Luxembourgs and 2 Limburgs.
