      Oil is going to be the downfall of the US. We’ve already ceded solar, wind, and electric cars to China, because we have to protect the precious oil companies.

      Spending American lives in pursuit of someone else’s oil can’t possibly be good for our future.

      What ever happened to the oil from Venezuela? I thought Venezuela was practically overflowing with oil?

      This time line is truly ridiculous. I saw a discussion weeks ago where Iranian sweet crude is the ideal dilutant to make Venezuelan heavy sour economically viable. Supposedly in 60s and 70s this was the preferred import method to the Gulf State refinery system.

      This was also one of the contributors to the fuel shortages at the end of the ’70s, the precursor oil deliveries to Venezuela being stopped by Iran after the revolution.
