      Remember the long lost days of Fiscal Conservatives and people who held conservative social values but didn’t believe they should be enshrined in law?

      That’s the thing – the GOP under Trump isn’t actually conservative, it’s *fascist*.

      There’s a difference.

      The difference is that it’s pro authoritarianism, business and corporatism over individual rights and community well being, submission to the state and the leader, and hyper-nationalism.

      We have seen this before. In Italy and Germany in the 1930s. It’s not hyperbole anymore, it’s calling a spade a spade.

      Barry Goldwater once said (I am paraphrasing) the takeover of the conservative movement by religious zealots will mean the end of Conservativism and the Republican party.
