      They know they can’t count on Trump if shit hits the fan in SEA. They’re all forced to become more involved and stick together.

      In the Philippines we have a joke about this, literally translated it goes:

      “80 years ago when you see the Japanese coming to your village you shout ‘hide your daughters and wives, the Japanese are coming!’ Now when you see the Japanese coming you shout, ‘here comes the Japanese, bring out your daughters and wives!’”

      Time is a flat circle over here.

      If the goal is to deter China, they just fooling themselves. Iran has shown that that strategy no longer works. Take out the US bases in those regions and the US will run away.

      Past enemies become future allies.

      I know that there are a lot of people here who want to point out the past but, it’s China who is the aggressor currently in that region. They are the ones who are threatening the Philippines sovereignty.

      If the Chinese government wasn’t being so openly aggressive in that region, there would be no reason to send troops to the Philippines to show that Japan will fight alongside their allies if necessary.
