Simply doesn’t hit as hard any more does it. It’s just „Trump be Trumpin“ now. I just can’t get upset about this shit anymore.

Do we expect anything less from them at this point? They are neighbours now, not friends.

Their government doesn’t seem particularly functional right now.

They’re having a hard time maintaining basic standards.

Won’t catch me crossing at any U.S border just like you won’t catch me crossing the border to North Korea. I don’t visit dictatorship countries ruled by nut jobs.

    >Horgus said U.S. border patrol officials have told residents there has been an increase in illegal traffic, but he’s seen no evidence.

Of course there isn’t. It’s insanely out of the way and even though it seems wide open and easy to cross, it’s also super conspicuous and anyone would be noticed crossing there.

Keeping America safe by enforcing an arbitrary line in an area where it’s wide open and anyone could cross if they wanted too.

  7. Yesterday people mad at Carney that he hasnt created a trade deal yet with USA, today this is happening. People really fail to see that USA has no intentions of creating a fair and balanced trade deal with us. This border thing is just another notch in the proof that USA doesnt see us as allies or is looking to do anything fairly with us.

Make sure it’s closed up tight, we don’t care at this point. We have moved on, BYE BYE

We have what? Over 200 border crossings? We should close them all except one per province that borders the US, so about 7.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a standing “shoot on site” order within 100 meters 🤔😜

  11. Probably best to keep that rapidly decaying society bordered off. This is one of those situations where good fences make good neighbors. The two nice sounding individuals in this story excluded.

My only concern with our trip to Jamaica for Christmas was that we don’t land in America. Direct flight from Ottawa. It’s worth the extra money to not have to get ICE murdered and then become some talking point about how I was a prick and deserved it.

This is just one of many examples across Canada, not surprisingly several towns on the southern side of the border are suffering economically and the one north of the border are striving, it will take decades to correct, if ever, there is a strong them or us culture growing in North America, how I would love to go back to our friendlier days prior to 9/11

Maybe they should focus on making sure they can manage their airports and prosecute pedophiles rather than this one gravel road.

  15. Any even read the article? The road they are closing to Canadians is COMPLETELY on the US side. It doesn’t cross into Canada at all. Seems a bit silly that the solution is for Canada to built its own gravel road to run parallel to the US road but at least know the fact before raging.

But hurrdurr the American border towns are hurting for Canadian business. I mean fk off

  17. rocketmn69_ on

Cross the damned road anyway to see your neighbour.

I hope the U.S. is paying for the new road on the Canadian side, since Canada has maintained the original road

  18. The Trump Republicans want you to believe that everyone and everything is a danger to you and ONLY THEY can protect you.

  19. TheSarcasticRomanian on

So if Alberta maintained the road on the Montana side, is Montana going to pay for this road being built on the Alberta side?

  20. Gentrified_potato02 on

Fuck it. If this is what they want, I say we string up a barrier like what was at the end of The Great Escape.
