More political families holding on to the grip of power.
I didn’t want to vote in this leadership, the candidates were not inspiring IMO. I think the NDP might be heading into irrelevance unless there is a drastic push away from social issues and for economic ones.
Avi with his past comments of no miltary spending I don’t think this will go well with the general public.

I don’t love that headline. Filmmaker? How about some refreshing reverse sexism:
**NDP elects Naomi Klein’s husband new leader**
or maybe some consistency in class politics:
**NDP elects wealthy nepo-baby new leader**

All you have to do is watch some of the footage coming out of their convention hall and see how they organized speaking opportunities among the attending delegates to understand how unserious this party has become. Then you add to that Lewis’ toxic positions on a host of issues and it’s clear this iteration will never challenge for government, and will be hard pressed to even challenge for winning back official party status. This is not the party of his grandfather anymore, it’d be completely unrecognizable to him.
I mean, if the purpose is not to try to appeal to enough people to win, then what’s the point?

Prediction is the NDPs polling get to ~12% next time in a few weeks.
Which is good and siphons off the CPC/LPC aspects of it. Listening to this speech and he will do well with the base, no problems.

Another missed opportunity
This was our chance to try scooping back the blue collar labour vote and I think this is a big flub
