Considering the risks of inflation starting to bite hard again due to rising fuel costs, and the sustained massive lead that, even if the Liberals were to lose half their advantage, would still lead to a decent majority, along with the likelihood of the Tories being thrown into disarray at another loss (almost certainly meaning Poilievre is ousted), it’s hard to imagine Carney just sitting around hoping a few by-elections will give him an incredibly tight technical majority that still would require a prorogation and a new throne speech to gain control of committees…
Well, I think you know where I’m going with this. Oh, and I know, the Conservatives, NDP and Bloc are full of doubtless well intentioned advice about how angry voters would be and how really, Carney doesn’t need to worry about the Opposition trying to cause trouble in committees or with procedural votes.
Uh huh.
